History

The South African Dental Association (SADA) is a professional association for dentists primarily in South Africa.  At present almost 80% of dentists registered in South Africa are members.  The Association is registered as an independent, non-profit, section 21 company.

SADA develops policies to represent dentists working in every sphere, from private practice, through community and hospital settings, to universities and the armed forces.

Today, SADA is the voice of the dental profession of South Africa, in continual contact with Ministers, Government departments and many other associations and international bodies such as the FDI World Dental Federation.  Through these contacts the profession's collective views and policies are promoted.

The South African Dental Association was established in 1998 through the unification of professional associations representing various groupings of dentists practising in South Africa.

The South African Dental Association will vigorously promote the interests and rights of it's members in their commitment to providing optimal oral health care of the highest ethical and professional standards.
