Why join SADA?

This is a question that is frequently asked by our members!

At present almost 80% of dentists registered in South Africa are members.  The Association is registered as an independant, non-profit, section 21 company.

SADA develops policies to represent dentists working in every sphere, from private practice, through community and hospital settings, to universities and the armed forces.

Your membersgip with SADA means that:

  1. You qualify for reduced Dental Protection fees.
  2. You receive a monthly Journal with an associated CPD program, which covers most of your CPD requirements for the year.
  3. You are automatically a member of your local Branch which,
  • Organizes affordable CPD meetings to supplement your Journal CPD program
  • Has a committee who represents you and your special needs at National Council level
  • Provides you with contacts at local level who can assist in answering your questions pertaining to the day-to-day running of your practice.

             4.  The National Council of SADA is in continual contact with important role players in

the profession, such as the Council for Medical Schemes, the Health Professions

Council, as well as many of the big Medical Aids.

            5.  You can contact SADA Head Office for legal advice from the in-house lawyer.

            6. You can apply for educational or research grants and financial support is provided

for members attending and presenting papers at the IADR.

It is therefore obvious that being a member of SADA affords you many advantages.  It is important for the profession that we all stand together and represent the profession with a single, unified voice.  If you would like to join SADA then contact Marilize Van Der Linde at  This email address is being protected from spambots.
